Incode wins Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year at the 2026 SBC Awards

The SBC Awards recognize outstanding achievement across the global betting and gaming industry, with 39 awards spanning operators, suppliers, payments, compliance, marketing, platforms, and data. In the Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year category, SBC named a gold, silver, and bronze winner, with Incode receiving gold.

The 13th edition of the ceremony brought more than 1,000 industry professionals together at Lisbon’s MEO Arena. Incode was one of 15 companies shortlisted in the Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year category.

How was the Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year selected?

The Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year category recognizes companies that excel at building and deploying fraud prevention and compliance solutions. According to SBC, judges consider the following criteria:

• How well the entrant’s platform detects, prevents, and reduces the risks of fraud and non-compliance
• Whether the entrant’s platform pairs innovative approaches with measurable results
• How well the entrant’s platform helps businesses keep pace with emerging threats and changing regulations

A hand-picked panel of industry leaders chooses the winners. The 2026 judges included executives from operators, payments companies, and investment firms. All judges sign non-disclosure agreements and must declare any conflicts of interest.

Why identity verification matters for fraud and compliance in gaming

This accolade reflects how central identity verification has become to fraud prevention and compliance in the betting and gaming industry.

Every player account starts with a question: who is this person, and are they allowed to play? Fraud prevention and compliance both depend on a well-founded answer, especially as fraudsters increasingly use fake, stolen, and synthetic identities (profiles built from a mix of real and invented details) to open accounts.

A growing set of age assurance and anti-money laundering (AML) rules also requires operators to confirm who each player is and whether they are old enough to play.

AI raises the stakes further. AI-assisted fraud sessions on Incode's platform grew from 2% in Q1 2023 to 32% in early 2026, as convincing deepfakes have become far cheaper and easier to produce.

On-Device Age Estimation relies on advanced facial age estimation and on-device processing to verify age without ever processing personally identifiable information (PII). Other age assurance methods, including document checks, are available as an optional step-up flow.

Independent recognition for Incode in 2026

The SBC Awards win adds to a run of independent recognition for Incode this year. Incode swept both tracks of the IJCB 2026 PAD-ID Card document forgery competition and won the LivDet-Face video category; was named a Prism Refractor and Resilient Trust Leader in the 2026 Biometric Digital Identity Financial Services Prism Report; and was the first to achieve iBeta Level 3 on iOS and Android with a 0% error rate.
