Know Your HumanKYH
A bank receives a payment request from a shopping agent. The request carries valid credentials and a signed permission, and every detail checks out. The question the bank still cannot answer is whether a real person is behind it at all: the account could have been opened with a generated selfie and a forged document, and the agent could be running for a fraudster who never appeared on camera.
Know Your Human is the step that answers it. When the person first handed the agent its permission, a live check confirmed that a real, present human was there and that they were the account holder. When the agent asks to move a large sum, the bank pauses it and asks that person to appear again. If anything goes wrong, the trail leads to a named human who was present when the action was approved, rather than to a token or a piece of software.
Know Your Human (KYH) is the set of checks that prove a real, present person stands behind an account, a session, or an AI agent, and that keep that person accountable for what the agent does on their behalf.
Where Know Your Customer (KYC) verifies a person once at onboarding, KYH re-establishes the person at the moments that matter: when an agent is granted authority, when it reaches a high-risk action, and when its behavior drifts from what the person authorized.
It relies on live presence signals such as liveness detection and deepfake detection rather than a stored document or a password alone, since an agent can supply documents, credentials, and generated selfies without any human present. Every agent action then traces back to the verified person.
